Twilight by Stephanie Meyer

Bella was just your average girl until she met fantastically beautiful Edward. The only problem is, Bella is pretty sure he is a vampire. The story follows their interesting, but complex relationship. Although the vampire(s) in this book, do not follow the example and characteristics of the recent vampires I have met in books, it is a fascinating storyline.
This book has romance, adventure, and mystery. Great for teens. Book one of what has evolved into a series.

Recommended for YA.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Finished the book and my son was right about his horcrux theory, it was dead on. He is a smart kid if I do say so myself. I am not writing a review here as there are so many out there already. But it was good and I think I would like to read it now that I have listened to it. (I tend to retain the information better).

Just started reading a YA book this week. Finally finished all of the Kelley Armstrong books.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Okay, so I finally got my hands on the audio book today. I have made it to the wedding so far. I will not give any spoilers here, but it has been riveting from the start and I am wanting to listen to it all night, but know that I must sleep....

Kelley Armstrong Otherworld series

I discovered this series when I was looking for something similar to Laurel K. Hamilton. If you like her vampire series, but not all the gore, this series is for you. I had read a few of the Anita Black series and enjoyed them, but grew tired of the blood and gore.

The first book Bitten is narrated by Elena, a female werewolf. It is an adventure, romance and mystery all in one. The latest book is No Humans Involved, narrated by Jaime who is a necromancer (she can communicate and raise the dead, if necessary). I listened to the first book and thought that was the authors only work. Then, I recently discovered her newest book and I have spent the last month going back and reading all of them. This is a wonderful series with supernatural elements, strong women characters, danger, adventure, mystery, magic and romance and you do not need to read them in chronological order to understand them.

Highly Recommended

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix

Okay, okay. I am probably one of the few Children's Librarians who has not read all the HP books. So, I read number one to get my son started. He is now 12 and has read all of them. I hate waiting for series books, so I did not want to get started....

I finished the book in preparation for the Movie release this month. It took me about 5 days. I wanted to quit at one point the book is so long, but I was compelled to keep reading to find out what happens.

Potter once again breaks rules and comes out ahead against Voldemort...

Recommended.
